A Plea for Courageous Catholics

What if you could get to Heaven with out the waters of Baptism, without the sacraments, without Our Blessed Mother, with out God’s help? That would mean that the whole Redemption was pointless. But this is definitely not the case. Our first goal here in life should always be to get to God.

Today, though, many are worried more about their neighbor than they are of themselves. Christ said that the first and greatest commandment was to love God with everything that a human has his body, soul, mind and will. This is the greatest commandment, so it sure takes preference over the second; “Love thy neighbor as thyself.” Once one has the commandments in their right order, then and only then can he start to help his neighbor. What does he need to help his neighbor in, in how to cook or how to get here or there? No, in telling him about the Church, for otherwise he will not get into Heaven.

Some may think that this is unkind to say, but in the end what is more important, reaching Heaven or worrying about what your neighbor will say to such a thing? Missionaries throughout the world did not preach for the fun of it. They did it so others could also have a share in eternal happiness. The percentage of Catholics here in America is very minute and Father Feeney shows us that out of all these centuries America has not produced even ONE Saint, although Blessed Kateri is on her way. This alone should inspire us with zeal to start going out and telling people that without the Church they will not be saved.

What doth it profit a man if he gain the whole world and suffer the loss of his soul? Not too much, so let us learn from Father Feeney to do as the Apostles did even if it requires the blood of martyrs.
