IHM students (especially Junior High and High School) are encouraged to join the following groups:
The Saint John the Baptist Pro-Life league: a student-run organization whose members pray daily for the end of abortion. They also conduct monthly assemblies for current events and pro-life projects, organize a bus for the March for Life in January, and actively pray the rosary in front of local abortion clinics.
IHM Altar Servers range in ages all the way to 12th grade. They serve daily Mass in Immaculate Heart of Mary Chapel. In 4th grade, boys begin practicing the Latin responses to the Mass, and take their first steps in the sacred surroundings of the sanctuary as acolytes and torch-bearers. They are only to serve Mass after much practise and study and after passing an exam. After serving for several years they begin to hold various positions of responsibility including thurifer, and MC.
In 2010 IHM introduced the Virgo Fidelis Sodality for High School Girls. The purpose of the Sodality is five-fold: To increase devotion to Our Lady, to deepen prayer life, to guard chastity, to surround oneself with good companions, and to perform acts of charity.
The IHM Chapter of the National Honor Society is more than just an honor roll. NHS and NJHS members demonstrate excellence in the areas of Scholarship, Leadership, Service, and Character.
