Saint John Bosco Day

The last day of January is always a day of celebration here at IHM… since it is the feast of Saint Johh Bosco!

The day began with the Mass of his feast and, in the spirit of this special patron, there are many exciting things planned for the day!

Assemblies and skits for both elementary and high school, games in different subjects, and even some big-screen movies along with popcorn!

It's definitely a day to remember! …and a saint to remember too!

Saint John Bosco, pray for us!

"Enjoy yourselves as much as you like, if only you keep away from sin."

"Whatever you do, say, or think, let it be for your soul’s good."

"Be cheerful, but let your cheerfulness be genuine, stemming from a conscience free from sin."

"Without confidence and love, there can be no true education."

Gearing Up for D.C.

IHM Junior High and High School students are gearing up for the annual bus trip to Washington D.C. for the March for Life!

After some fundraising which included a popular pancake breakfast and selling these cool "IHM Pro-life" knit caps (modeled by some of the IHM Class of 2012)… the students are now ready for the big trip!

It will be a long trip through the night on January 22 – but once there, the IHM group will happily join the thousands of youth from across the country who will converge in Washington for the 39th march to take a stand for sacredness of life.

The Sisters will already be there when the students and Brothers arrive, since they will be participating once again in the March for Life Convention at the Hyatt Regency on Capitol Hill with a table of religious and pro-life items.

Please pray for a safe and successful journey for all! We hope to see you there!

Christmas is Coming!

There are only a few more school days left, before IHM breaks for Christmas vacation! But "it's beginning to look alot like Christmas" here in Still River!

Well, there may be a shortage of snow, but on the other hand… Saint Nicholas has stopped by already! Yes, he made a special visit to elementary students on his feastday, December 6th! …and now, Christmas spirit is evident in the school-wide decorations, and the carols that echo from the band practices… not to mention gifts piling up for "Secret Santa" and plans for class Christmas parties!

But the first festive event on everyone's list is the 2011 IHM School Christmas Program!

This year the pageant by Grades 1-3, will offer insights into what occurred behind the scenes on Christmas night… then Grades 4-6 will show us a little of what Christmas is like around the world in a colorful performance that will include traditional music and dances of five different countries… and the finale of the evening will be a spirited concert by the award-winning IHM Band! You don't want to miss it!

Admission is free, so bring your family and friends and get ready for an enjoyable show at 7:30 p.m. on Sunday, December 18, at Nashoba High School Auditorium!

Thank You, Fundraisers!

The Tim Janis Ensemble came once again to perform a festive benefit Christmas concert – "The American Christmas Carol" – on the evening of December 9, 2011 for Immaculate Heart of Mary School!

The concert featured renowned composer and musician Tim Janis, who is widely known for his music on PBS Specials such as Celebrate America. He was accompanied by an ensemble of musicians with some special guests: Jim Cole, Wendi McPike and Amy Petty, who topped off the show with their tremendous vocal accompaniments.

It was a great evening of sweet music and Christmas spirit… and funds for our big building project of a Gym/Auditorium!

Special thanks to Tim, the Ensemble and all those who helped to make this a successful evening! May God bless you!
